Frequently Asked Questions
microblading FAQ?
What is Permanent Makeup ? Is it really permanent ?
Permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing. It is also known as micropigmentation. In fact, it is semi-permanent and the effects last from 1 to 3 years, depending on the treatment and maintenance.
The pigment is inserted into the dermal layer of the skin, it does not go as deep as with the traditional tattoo and that is the reason it starts fading after some time.
Is permanent makeup safe?
Safety is BeautyBoss Clinic top priority. We make sure everything is spotless – we follow strict hygiene protocols and all the needles are disposable.
We are well-known for our high standards. Our artists are all licensed and certified. We hold multiple certifications including PhiAcademy.
We use only the top quality permanent makeup pigments.
If you have any health conditions, inform your artist before the treatment.
If you have any allergies and you think you might be allergic to the pigment used, take a patch-test before the treatment.
Is it painful?
It can’t really be described as painful, since the pigment does not go so deep under the skin. It can be a little bit uncomfortable.
Numbing ream is applied to help ease the procedure. Most clients say the level of discomfort is similar to the one you feel when tweezing your brows. Some of them even feel nothing at all.
For more sensitive clients, numbing solution can be applied throughout the procedure, if necessary.
What will I look like after the procedure?
Your semi-permanent tattoo will be too dark at first. The true color will be seen after the healing process is over.
Also, some swelling might occur, and goes away within 24 hours.
When can I return to work?
You can continue with your normal activities immediately after the treatment.
The most noticeable day is the next day. Your tattoo will be dark and a little bit swollen and you will have to be careful not to sweat or get it wet. Also, it will probably not look very pleasant, so if you don’t feel comfortable about that, take a day off after the treatment.
But, if it does not bother you, you can go to work the very next day.
What activities should I avoid?
After permanent makeup treatment, you should avoid any activity that includes sweating. So, no working out, visiting saunas, sitting in the sun.
No swimming also, water can damage your freshly done microblading or any other permanent makeup treatment.
Do I need to have a consultation before my appointment?
Consultation is not obligatory. However, if you have a lot of questions about the procedure, feel free to book a free consultation. We understand the procedure can be daunting and we want to make sure all our clients feel comfortable with their decision.
We will be happy to give you all the answers to your questions. You will find out everything about the treatment itself, precare and aftercare and get to be informed about the products we use.
Marie Hal ensures to personally offer the initial complementary consultation to all prospective clients.
I am unsure of the right design and colour. Do I need to book a consultation before an appointment?
Not required, we will chose the shape and color during your appointment. You will have a chance to see and approve the shape before we start the procedure. We will listen carefully to your goals and recommend shapes and colours along with a mock-up of the proposed design. This way you can choose your best look.
Also, we will be seeing you for a touchup appointment in the following months so you may “fine-tune” your design and make adjustments to shape and colour. The end result will be the shape you are most satisfied with.
What can I expect the day of the procedure?
Permanent makeup treatment is usually 2-3 hours long.
The first part includes preparation and consultation, where we choose the pigment shade, shape of your brows etc.
After that, the artist will create a design by reshaping your existing brow to help you envision your ideal end result. Only once you are 100% satisfied, we will proceed.
Aftercare routines will be provided after the treatment which you need to follow religiously for the best results.
In the end, we will schedule your first touch up, which is obligatory.
Can you fix somebody else's work? MICROBLADING FAq
It depends. We would have to see your old tattoo first, to assess if it is fixable.
Please note that if you previously had tattoo work done, a clear photograph (without makeup) must be submitted before scheduling an consultation. Contact us for all details.
Can I wear makeup as usual after the procedure?
After a permanent makeup treatment, it is advisable to avoid wearing makeup on the treated area for at least two weeks.
After 48 hours you can wear makeup on the other parts of your face, but make sure it does not go near the treated area, because you risk getting an infection.
How do I know when I need a touchup?
Beside the first touch up, which is mandatory, all the other touch ups will prolong the life expectancy of your cosmetic tattoo. When the color starts fading, but before it fades completely, is when you should book an appointment.
The frequency of touch ups will depend on the speed of fading, and it depends on your skin type and lifestyle.
